Zanzibar

Hi Guys

Thought I'd send you a longer email this time. The computers are slower and harder to find in Africa than South America so we probably wont write as much. We started our tour by going to the Ngorongoro Crater where we were amazed by how many animals were there. We saw 3 lioness' as we drove in, lots of buffalo, a black rhino, a lion kill (we missed it taking the wildbeast down tho) that was so close to the road that the cats (about 10) were walking around our vehicals and sitting in the shade from them. All our trucks were 4x4 and the roof opened out so we had good views. We saw a gorgeous masai lion, a hyena, jackals, zebra, wildbeast, gazelles (100's), cheetah, buffalo, hippo, elephant and lots of birds etc. The only thing we did not see were giraffe and leopard. Giraffe cant get to the crater because it is so steep. We then spent a night in the serengeti which was completely different because it is all so open and vast - beautiful tho. We saw a leopard the next morning plus lots more game.

We spent a few nights at the Snake park in Tanzania where we witnessed the snakes being fed live baby chicks and the black mamba got a guinea pig. Amazing watching the venom work. We then moved on to Dar E Salam, were we stayed in a gorgeous camp on the beach with open showers just like our impala camps. We are now in Zanzibar staying at a lovely beach resort right up at the top of the island. Very remote and dirt farm like roads to get here. Enjoying the relaxations. Off to Malawi next then hopefully Zim. Possibility we may change the itinery to go via our farm (1 night) and Kariba. Fingers crossed.

Hope you all well, take care
Lots of love
Jen and Baz
